Les recherches scientifiques entreprises à partir des échantillons du GIE NeuroCEB visent à améliorer la compréhension du mécanisme des maladies d’Alzheimer et de Parkinson, de la Sclérose en Plaques et des ataxies cérébelleuses. Elles peuvent concerner :

  • l’étude des lésions responsables des symptômes : examen microscopique, analyse de leur contenu biochimique (protéines, sucres, lipides, métaux, neuromédiateurs…)
  • l’étude des lésions associées ou de la réaction qu’elles provoquent : inflammation, plasticité neuronale
  • la génétique : l’étude génétique peut se faire directement à partir du tissu ou avoir été réalisée à partir du sang et mise en corrélation avec les lésions.
  • Les corrélations entre les données cliniques, génétiques, d’imagerie, … et les lésions observées au microscope: elles consistent à analyser comment les lésions provoquent les symptômes cliniques ou les aspects en imagerie.
Les principaux de projet de recherche issus des échantillons du GIE NeuroCEB qui ont abouti à des publications, ont principalement concerné aujourd’hui les mécanismes des lésions.
